KARACHI: The Karachi police have identified 80 ‘best’ investigating officers (IOs) to head investigations into high-profile cases of five different categories.

According to a statement, Karachi police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon and Prosecutor General Dr Fayyaz Shah held a meeting to discuss the cooperation between police and the prosecution.

It said the IOs were being given responsibility at the district level for the cases of murder, murder for resisting robbery, injured for resisting robbery, rape and high-profile drug cases.
