Minister opens BOK branch in Hayatabad

PESHAWAR: Finance minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra here on Monday inaugurated a Bank of Khyber’s branch in Phase-6 of Hayatabad.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, he said opening of the branch had filled the longstanding demand of the area people. He said this was the 224th branch of the bank, which would open 50 more branches by next year. Mr Jhagra said the bank was the largest bank of the province, which had improved its services to meet the modern-day banking needs.

The minister said the bank had launched the largest-ever interest-free loans to the tune of Rs24 billion under the Raast financing scheme. He said loans of Rs12 billion would be given to youth. He said loans were also being provided to youth under the successful youth programme.
