RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal on Tuesday inaugurated spring tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling on the premises of Gymkhana Rawalpindi.

This campaign will continue till July and the target has been set to plant 10.62 million saplings in Rawalpindi division out of which the share of Rawalpindi district has been fixed at 4.6 million.

The campaign has been inaugurated all over the province with the aim of making Punjab greener and reducing the effects of global warming.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal said the effects of global warming had become very intense in the absence of trees. In this regard, it is also important to see which plant is most suitable.
