LAKKI MARWAT: Over 500 policemen will be deployed in and around polling stations for free, fair and peaceful conduct of the re-polling in the Lakki Marwat district scheduled for Feb 13.

An official said on Saturday the administration had finalised foolproof security arrangements as all the 23 polling stations had been declared most sensitive. He said the district had been divided into four sectors and six sub-sectors, where DSPs and SHOs would supervise security arrangements.

The official said additional policemen would be deployed to avert any untoward incident and provide a peaceful environment to voters to cast their votes.

“Keeping in view the shortfall of police force, platoons of Frontier Reserve Police, Frontier Constabulary and Pakistan Army’s Quick Response Force have also been required to maintain peace and harmony on the polling day,” he maintained.

The official said the regional police officer had been requested to provide experts of bomb disposal squad in view of the prevailing law and order situation.

He said the subordinate police officials had been directed to ensure strict implementation of the election code of conduct and directions issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
