VEHARI: A man committed suicide after killing his pregnant wife on Saturday in Gagoo town, the Gagoo police said on Sunday. Ali Raza, 24, of 245/EB, brought back his estranged wife, Sonia Bibi, 22 from her parents’ house, a few days back.

On Saturday, they exchanged words and later Ali first shot at and killed Sonia and later ended his own life with the same weapon.

Gagoo Station House Officer Rana Naik told Dawn the police registered a case and are looking for facts.

He said that the bodies were handed over to the families after autopsy at the Burewala THQ Hospital.

He said Sonia was pregnant when she was killed. The couple got married about eight months ago.

An FIR was registered on Sunday on the application of Abdul Razaq, father of Sonia, against Ali under sections 302, 114, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
