DERA GHAZI KHAN: District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Ali Waseem told a press conference in Taunsa on Thursday that they had arrested three people, including the headmistress of the Government Sokar Girls High School, for minting millions from the job seekers.

The group had been operating since 2008.

The police seized from headmistress Kulsoom Hina’s house fake seals, laptops and other equipment for the preparation of fake documents.

He said that 30 people were questioned in the scam, while 100 people had approached the police against the suspects. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice of the issue after suspect Kalsoom shared a video alleging that Salahuddin Buzdar, Niaz and Qayyum, relatives of the chief minister, had minted millions from her.

The police recovered lakhs from her which would be returned to the victims, the DPO said. He said the chief minister ordered indiscriminate action against those looting the public. The DPO said that investigations revealed that no relative of the chief minister was found involved in the scam, however, Salahuddin was being interrogated.
