ISLAMABAD: The capital on Monday reported 113 cases of Covid-19, including 95 of the Omicron variant.

In the last 24 hours, 3,785 tests were conducted among contacts of the positive cases and suspects out of which 64 males and 49 females tested positive with the positivity rate of 2.98pc.

Officials said 36 cases were reported in the age group of 20-29, 31 in 30-39, 11 in 50-59, 10 in 10-19, nine in 60-69, eight in 40-49, three each in 0-9 and 70-79 and two in 80 and above.

Likewise, 12 cases were reported from Rawat, 11 from Lohi Bher, eight each from F-11 and F-8, five from E-11, four each from F-10, I-8, G-10, Sihala and Koral, three each from Bhara Kahu and G-13, two each from F-6, G-9, Tarlai, F-7, G-7, G-14 and Sohan and one each from G-5, G-6, D-12, E-7 and G-11.

The tally of the positive cases in the capital reached 109,396, out of which 107,709 patients have recovered and 967 died. There are 720 active cases in the capital — 40 admitted to hospitals and the rest home isolated.

APP adds: About 28 more people tested positive in the district of Rawalpindi, raising the tally to 39,756.

According to data released by the District Health Authority, 11 cases were reported from the Rawalpindi Cantonment, five from Rawal Town, four each from Potohar Town and Taxila, three from Gujar Khan and one from Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

“At present, 20 patients are admitted to three city facilities — 10 at the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, seven at Fauji Foundation Hospital and three at Benazir Bhutto Hospital,” it added.

One patient was on a ventilator while nine were stable and 10 on oxygen support.
