HYDERABAD, Nov 18: The Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, has presented the budget of the university and the Z. A. Bhutto Agriculture College, Dokri, for the year 2005-06.

The meeting of the senate of the university was held at the campus on Friday.

Vice-Chancellor of the university Dr Basheer Ahmed Shaikh presided over the meeting.

The senate approved an amount of Rs487.348 million for the university.

The senate was informed that the Higher Education Commission has allocated Rs315 million for the recurring expenditure of the university for the year 2005-06 and an amount of Rs34 million was expected from internal resources of the university.

The vice-chancellor in his speech said that the university had generated an income of Rs13.2 million from its farms and research stations.

He said that 40 per cent budget was allocated for developing human resources.

Dr Shaikh said that the HEC had given 70 scholarships each to undergraduate and postgraduate students at a cost of Rs43.6 million.

SU: The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, has purchased 10 buses for the faculty of the university, employees and students.

The university syndicate approved Rs33 million for the buses. The buses will be handed over to the university in the first week of December.

Professor Agha Riaz Hassan said that they would propose more buses for the university to facilitate the members.
