ISLAMABAD: A man was gunned down in capital over a family dispute, police said.

The incident took place at Milatabad Tarnol where gunmen murdered Abdul Ghaffar, they added. The victim was residing in Tarnol along with his family, they said, adding that two persons came on a motorcycle and intercepted him when he was returning from mosque after offering Maghrib prayers along with his brother and son.

Shortly, the riders started indiscriminate firing, the police said, adding that as a result he sustained bullet injury and the other two succeeded in saving their lives.

Later, the attackers escaped, the police said, adding that there was a family dispute between them and the attackers.

The attackers allegedly murdered a son of Abdul Ghaffar in 2018 and a case was registered at a police station in Peshawar.

The attackers were the relative of the in-laws of Abdul Ghaffar’s daughter, they said, adding that there was a family dispute between the woman and her husband which led to the two killings, one in Peshawar and the other in Islamabad.
