SWABI: Fazl Amin Khan, an additional station house officer, committed suicide on here Wednesday, said his colleague SHO Fayaz Khan.

“We were shocked to know about the suicide of a police officer, who was usually nominated an investigate officer by the district police chief,” said an official on condition of anonymity.

The deceased was hailing from Baghicha Dheri area of Mardan and was performing his duty in Kalu Khan police station in Razaar tehsil.

The photo of his dead body that went viral on social media showed that he was in official police uniform when he committed suicide.

SHO Fayaz said that he performed his duty at night.

He added that early in the morning they came to know that he shot himself dead.

When the police party visited his room in Kalu Khan police station, he was lying dead there. He shot himself in the head.

SHO Fayaz said that he was under pressure and committed suicide due to some domestic issues.

Police shifted his body for autopsy to tehsil headquarters hospital.

His funeral was held at Kalu Khan police station.

Mohammad Shoaib, district police officer, and various other officials attended his funeral.

Later his dead body was taken to his native village for burial.
