KARACHI: Scores of students held a demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club in protest against the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) for ‘failing to hold transparent’ test for admission in medical and dental colleges.

The demo was organised by the All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation (APMSO) in which families of the aggrieved students also participated.

Speaking to protesters, senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Khawja Izharul Hasan demanded that the president and prime minister declare the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) organised by the PMC null and void and restore the old National Testing System (NTS) exam.

He alleged that there was no transparency in the PMC-organised admission test.

Khawaja Izhar said it appeared that the PMC deliberately did injustice with the students across the country and failed them under a well-planned conspiracy.

He said that in the first phase, the MQM-P was approaching the Sindh government along with aggrieved students, but if the federal government did not address the issue, his party would move courts.
