Industrialists put off protest

PESHAWAR: Industrialists here on Thursday decided to put off a planned protest after getting assurance from Chief Minister Mahmood Khan about amicable resolution of their problems.

The chief minister held out the assurance to a delegation of Industrialists Association of Hayatabad, Peshawar, led by its president Malik Imran Ishaq, during a meeting here at the CM House, according to a press release.

Former FPCCI president Ghazanfar Bilour, vice-president IAP Ghulam Mohiyuddin, IAP chairman standing committee on legal affairs Riaz Arshad, former SCCI president Haji Mohammad Afzal, chairman IAP standing committee on FBR Mohammad Ishaq, administrative secretaries and high officials from departments concerned attended the meeting.

On this occasion, the chief minister directed for formation of a committee to be headed by his special assistant on industries, Abdul Karim Khan, to prepare recommendations for amicable resolution of the industrialists’ issues within next 15 days and present the report to him.

The administrative secretaries and representatives of the industrialists association would be members of the proposed body.
