QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Monday said that a tender had been issued for the construction of a dual carriageway from Kuchlak to Khuzdar. He said that with the completion of this highway the government would achieve another milestone.

The chief minister said in a message on Twitter that the road from Kuchlak to Khuzdar was very important and a dual carriageway on this route had been a demand of the people of Balochistan for a long time.

He said frequent accidents on the Quetta-Karachi highway had claimed many lives.

In another message, CM Alyani said that the government was making efforts for improving the standard of education in the province and in this regard construction of a college for girls in Nawan Killi was one of the steps.

Commenting on the second All Pakistan Chief Minister Balochistan Diamond Jubilee Football Tournament in Quetta, he said that the government had organised many such events in over past three years for providing opportunities to sportsmen of Balochistan.

Meanwhile, the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Balochistan chapter Dr Munir Baloch appreciated the government for issuing the tender for construction of Kuchlak-Khuzdar dual carriageway, saying that Prime Minister Imran Khan had fulfilled another promise he had made with the people of Balochistan.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri and federal Minister Murad Saeed deserved congratulations on the issuance of tender for construction of this important road, he said, adding, “their efforts for construction of this road will always be remembered”.

“In the first phase, a tender has been issued to make the national highway a dual carriageway from Kuchlak to Khuzdar,” he said, adding that construction of the dual carriageway would solve problems of those who travel on this route.
