RAWALPINDI: Over 315,000 saplings under the Clean and Green Pakistan programme have been planted in the city while solid steps have also been taken to beautify several areas, renovate historical sites and eliminate encroachments.

According to Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Director Horticulture Sheikh Tariq Mahmood, all available resources were utilised to achieve the plantation target set for monsoon plantation campaign 2021.

He said PHA in collaboration with the departments concerned under the Glorious Rawalpindi project was taking solid steps for the betterment and beautification of the city.

Under a programme, organised on Sept 19, 7,000 saplings were planted in Potohar Park and Dhoke Munshi. Nearly 500 students and their teachers took part in the campaign. Adviser to the Chief Minister Asif Mehmood was also present on the occasion.

PHA is striving to renovate public parks of the city besides carrying out plantation. More facilities are being provided to the citizens at all parks, he added.
