RAWALPINDI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has extended restrictions on inbound travellers to Pakistan till Oct 31 as they will be subjected to testing and quarantine stipulations as per procedure.

However, inbound travellers from 12 category C countries will only be allowed subject to exemption by committee as per procedure in vogue.

A notification issued by the CAA on Friday said international travellers from any country (falling in category A and B) are required to possess valid negative PCR test certification conducted within the 72 hours prior to commencement of travel to Pakistan.

The notification said that international travellers to Pakistan from category “C” countries will only be allowed subject to exemption by committee as per procedure in vogue.

It said Pakistanis whose return from Category C countries is scheduled till Oct 31 may travel to Pakistan without grant of special exemption and while in possession of a valid negative PCR test results conducted within the 72 hours prior to commencement of travel to Pakistan.

The 12 category “C” countries are Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Iran, Iraq, Mongolia, Mexico, Philippines, Slovenia, South Africa, Thailand and Trinidad and Tobago.
