ISLAMABAD: An Afghan national was murdered in the capital over a monetary dispute on Thursday, police said.

Hayatullah, a native of Kabul, had a green grocery shop in Sabzi Mandi and used to sell vegetables to other vendors. A group of six vendors came to the Sabzi Mandi and asked the victim to return the amount which they had paid to him for vegetables, claiming the stock was rotten.

They left the vegetable market after threatening him. Later, they called Hayatullah to their place in Chungi No 26 to settle the issue.

However, when Hayatullah reached there, they allegedly murdered him, the police said. The Golra police registered a murder case in response to a complaint lodged by a brother of the deceased.
