HYDERABAD: Rainfall lashed Hyderabad on Tuesday night. It started at 10.20pm and was continuing with some intensity till 10.55pm when this story was filed.

Power breakdown was reported in several areas with the first drop of rain.

It was a hot day on Tuesday since morning.

People experienced suffocating atmosphere before it started raining.

Late monsoon rains have usually proven disastrous is terms of urban flooding in Hyderabad.

MITHI: Parts of the Tharparkar region received moderate to heavy spells of rain on Monday night and Tuesday with thunderstorm.

Nagarparkar received around 30mm of rainfall.

Different areas of Chhachhro, Dahli and Islamkot also received showers. It was raining in Mithi, Diplo and Kaloi talukas when the last reports came in at around midnight.

Thari farmers appeared happy over the much awaited and needed rainfall. They said the spell would prove beneficial to their crops and ensure growth of fodder for their animals.

They said people of Thar were on the brink of a drought-like situation due to the late arrival of monsoon showers.
