ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued new procedures for integration of retailers’ point-of-sale (POS) with the tax machinery system.

A notification SRO1063 of 2021 issued on Wednesday categorically clarified that no person can carry out integration through software unless obtaining a proper licence.

It was further said that every payment counter whether fixed or portable and generates invoice for receipt of payment either in cash or through debit or credit card will be connected as per notified rules.

And every licensee will be bound to integrate the payment counter in the prescribed manner. For grant of licence, the project director retail monitoring cell will be the convener of the licensing committee located at FBR House, Islamabad.
