CHARSADDA/DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Four persons, including two boys, drowned in separate incidents on Friday, rescue officials said.

Two youngsters of Nesata area of Charsadda drowned in Jindi River while taking a bath. The bodies of 12-year-old Ahyan and 10-year-old Asad were fished out by local divers.

Meanwhile, two friends drowned and two others were rescued while they were taking a dip in the Indus River in Dera Ismail Khan.

Rescue 1122 media coordinator Aizaz Mahmood told Dawn that the four youths had gone to the river for swimming, but two of them drowned near Samukhewali village of Prova tehsil.

Rescue 1122 divers and locals recovered body of one of the victims.

He was identified as Asad Mohana. Search for the body of the other victim, identified as Anwar Ustrana, continued.

In a separate development, body of a drowned youth was recovered in Barang tehsil of Bajaur district on Friday.

Rescue 1122 in-charge Amjad Khan said Foodin Khan, 21, had drowned in Panjkora River in Saili Parti locality on Monday.

He said the victim’s body was recovered after four days of search operation. He said the victim belonged to Tar Israfeel village.
