TAXILA: Three people died while two others of the same family were injured when their rivals opened indiscriminate fire over them in Lakarmar village in Jand tehsil of Attock on Monday evening.

Police and hospital sources said the ill-fated family was present at home when armed suspects starting shooting at them. The deceased were identified as Waheed Ullah, Haneef Khan and Akbar and the injured were identified as Tasleem Jan and Umer Sultan.

The injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital from where they were shifted to a hospital in Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.

Upon getting information, a heavy contingent of police led by Sub Divisional Police Officer DSP Tafseer Hussain rushed to the spot and initiated investigation. Talking to journalists, Mr Hussain attributed the cold blooded murder to an old enmity.
