CHARSADDA: Three youth of Peshawar drowned in the Swat River in Khyali area here on Friday.

Musa Khan, Haris Khan and Azizi Khan, belonging to Choghalpura area of the provincial capital, had come to Khyali area for picnic. One of them was bathing in the river when a gushing tidal wave swept him away. The other two youth also jumped into the waters to save him, but they also drowned, Rescue 1122 officials and local residents said.

The divers of Rescue 1122 and locals fished out the bodies and shifted them to the District Headquarters Hospital, Charsadda. Later, the bodies were handed over to their families.
