RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested three brothers, one for allegedly killing his sister and the other two for concealing the crime.

The unmarried woman was found murdered in her house on Wednesday and the police said that they had recovered the stick with which the woman was allegedly beaten to death by her brother.

A police spokesman said that the woman, 28, was killed in the name of honour allegedly by her brother Babar Shah, while plaintiff Abrar Shah and third brother Sadaqat Shah had been arrested on the charges of concealing the crime and erasing evidence.

He said that legal proceedings against their mother were currently on hold due to her illness as she was also allegedly aware of the facts. Earlier, a murder case was registered against unknown persons on the complaint of Abrar Shah, brother of the victim.

According to the preliminary investigation, the woman was killed in the name of honour, the police said.

In addition to the inconclusive consent sections of the law in the murder case, provisions for destruction of evidence have also been added.

Meanwhile, a couple seeking Covid-19 vaccination was booked by the police on the charges of hurling threats at a doctor on Thursday.

Dr Fahim Ahmed told the Civil Lines police that he had been currently posted at the Fatima Jinnah Women University. He said he was on duty when a man along with a woman forcibly entered his room and insisted on giving them a dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

He said though the couple had been facilitated, the man argued with his staff. He said that on his intervention, he was also threatened.
