LAHORE: The meteorological department forecast moderate to heavy rain for Friday morning and afternoon in Lahore.

“The system may cover central areas of Punjab up to Multan,” said the officials here on Thursday.

The system produced moderate and sporadic rains on Thursday, which was recorded 10 millimeters at the airport and 12 millimeters in the city areas. The Met officials had expected moderate to heavy rains during the night but it remained moderate in intensity.

The shower, however, brought the minimum temperature down by five degree Celsius, which was recorded 22.6 degree Celsius and maximum 32.5 degree Celsius – almost a 10-degree difference.

The officials predicted that the rain producing system which was mainly concentrated on upper and central parts of the province, had started moving down and would cover areas like Bahawalnagar and Sahiwal – right up to Multan.
