Abbottabad water tank being cleaned

ABBOTTABAD, Jan 23: The municipal administration of Abbottabad has begun cleaning of the main water tank located at the Bandkhoo area after a lapse of 15 years.

The municipal engineer Younis Khan told Dawn that the operation would take two days as the huge water tank is being de-silted. Half of the Abbottabad city gets its water from this tank through mini-tanks constructed at Kunj, Kehal, Banda Sappan and the other areas.

A study conducted by social organizations, including the WHO, had concluded that the water used by the residents of Abbottabad contained bacteria, causing various diseases like jaundice and stomach disorders.

COMMITTEE:The district council constituted a seven-member committee to review revenue affairs of the district.
