OKARA: Five people, including four members of a family, were booked for allegedly poisoning a youth to death over a marriage dispute here on Monday in Bhagghy Shah locality of Hujra Shah Muqeem.

As per the first information report (FIR), complainant Yasin alleged that suspects Younis, his son Khalid alias Kaloo, daughter Robina, wife Kubran and Murtaza wanted to get his son Saifullah married in their family. On his refusal, they called Saifullah (21) to their house on some pretext and allegedly poisoned him, Yasin alleged, saying that his son breathed his last at DHQ hospital.

The case was registered under sections 302 and 34 of the PPC.

POISONED: A mother of one was allegedly poisoned to death by her in-laws after she did not allow her husband to contract a second marriage at Bhutta Mohabbat near Hujra Shah Muqeem.

As per the first information report, complainant Sarfraz Ahmad said his sister Saba Shahzadi had married Abid Ali in Kot Tibba two years back and the couple has a one-year-old son. He said Abid sought permission for second marriage and his sister refused. He alleged that Abid along with his mother administered some poisonous substance to his sister as a result her condition deteriorated and she was admitted to DHQ hospital where she expired.

Hujra Shah Muqeem have registered a case.
