RAWALPINDI: Police investigating into the rape case of a woman in Kahuta will conduct DNA tests of the victim and the main suspect along with the forensic analysis of video of the victim made by the suspects.

According to sources close to the investigation, the police have arrested the main suspect and will take him to Lahore for the DNA test. Besides, the clothes of the rape victim will also be taken to Lahore for analysis.The suspect is in police custody on a four-day remand.

The sources said the suspect had been extorting money from the woman, who worked as a maid, but after she was unable to meet his demand, he shared her video on social media.

During the initial investigation the suspect confessed to his involvement in the crime. However, the involvement of other persons, accused by the victim is yet to be established.

The woman alleged that she was raped by three persons in front of her nine-year-old son.

She said she was at her home with her son on May 26 when two men whom she identified by name along with their accomplice entered her house carrying pistols. One of the men held her son on gunpoint and the other pushed her on a bed, tore her clothes and sexually assaulted her. The other man made video of her. Later, she alleged, the two other suspects also raped.

The suspects also took away Rs700,000 and gold jewellery from her house. She said the suspects then started blackmailing her demanding money.

She said they shared her video on social media after she refused to pay them money. She suffered another setback when her husband divorced her.
