SWAT: Additional district and sessions judge, Bahrain, Ayaz Khan Momand on Friday sentenced a man, who was arrested on charges of blasphemy, to life imprisonment.

According to the public prosecutor, Hikmat Khan, a resident of Kalam, was booked by Kalam police on June 24, 2019, for throwing a copy of the Holy Quran in a drain.

Following completion of lawyers’ arguments on Friday, the judge sentenced the convict to life imprisonment.
