Gen Bajwa, EU official discuss key issues

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa discussed key issues with Chairman of the European Union Military Committee Gen Claudio Graziano on Tuesday, said the Inter-Services Public Relations.

During a video call the two generals discussed matters of mutual interest, reg­ional security situation, inc­luding recent developments in Afghanistan and enha­nced bilateral cooperation with the European Union, said an ISPR press release.

During the conversation, the army chief said that Pakistan valued its relations with the EU and it was earnestly looking forward to enhancing mutually beneficial and multi-domain relations based on common interests.

Gen Graziano appreciated Pakistan’s role in regional peace and stability, especially with regard to the Afghan peace process.

The two military leaders pledged to play their role for further improving cooperation at all levels.
