ISLAMABAD: Islamabad and Rawalpindi continue to see a decline in the number of Covid-19 cases as 45 people tested positive for the disease. Positivity rate in the capital was 0.8pc whereas 34 patients reportedly recovered and no virus-related casualties were reported.

Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours 4,378 tests were conducted and out of the total 27 males and 10 females were tested positive.

They said eight cases each were reported in the age group of 30-39 and 40-49, followed by seven in 20-29, six in 0-9, three in 10-19, two in 60-69, and one each in 50-59, 70-79 and 80 and above, the officials said, adding that three cases each were reported from Rawat, Chak Shahzad, and Alipur, two each from Tarali, I-10, G-6, Kurri, F-7 and Tarnol, and one each from G-9, I-8, Khanna, F-11, F-6, I-9, Sohan, Koral, Chirrah, and G-5.

Furthermore, the number of Covid-19 patients further reduced in the district as eight people tested positive for the disease whereas 25 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 160 active patients. As many as 30 patients are in hospitals including 11 who arrived from other districts and 130 patients are home isolated. As many as 889 patients are waiting for the results of their Covid-19 serology.

Five patients arrived from the garrison city including two from cantonment and one from Potohar Town and two from Rawal Town. Two patients arrived from Taxila and one from Kahuta.

Seven patients are admitted in Holy Family Hospital, four in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 11 in Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) and eight patients are in Fauji Foundation Hospital (FFH).

There are two patients on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 18 are on oxygen support and 10 are stable.
