TAXILA: A man was shot dead in broad daylight while he was standing at a busy bus stand near G.T. Road in the jurisdiction of Hassanabdal Police station on Wednesday.

Police while quoting eye witnesses said 38-year-old Ameenul Haq was travelling on his motorcycle when two masked persons hiding behind a car intercepted him and shot him. Haq died on the spot.

Later, Rescue 1122 shifted the body to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital for autopsy. Police while quoting family members of the deceased said he was residing with his family in the city and the suspects had allegedly shot him dead over an old enmity.

Hassanabdal police registered a case and started further investigation.
