CHARSADDA: The Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, and Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) of Islamic International University, Islamabad (IIUI), have signed a memorandum of understanding for promotion of quality education and capacity building of the youth and professionals.

According to the MoU, both the institutions will keep close coordination and hold conferences, trainings, seminars and workshops in order to promote quality education. Both the varsities will also work for religious harmony.

Bacha Khan University (BKU) vice-chancellor Prof Dr Bashir Ahmad and Islamic International University, Islamabad, vice-chancellor on behalf of IRD signed the agreement at the IRD conference room.

BKU dean faculty of social sciences Prof Syed Salim Shah, P&D director Ansa Javed Khan, ORIC director Dr Farhat Jabeen, QEC director Dr Khalid Saeed and IRD executive director Hussanul Amin were also present on the occasion.

According to the MoU, both the universities would cooperate in training and capacity building of youth and other professionals in the fields of social sciences, Islamic Studies, law, economics, education and community work to promote peace and harmony and reduce conflicts in the society.

The IRD and BKU would also jointly explore new avenues, particularly in the areas of publications, research and training.
