DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A couple was killed allegedly for honour in Saddar police station limits here on Thursday.

A police official said that the newly-married couple was on way home on a motorcycle after appearing in a local court when they were ambushed near Bhitaniabad on Tank Road.

Saddar Circle DSP Hafiz Adnan told Dawn that Jamil Ahmed, 22, a resident of Hisam village, had got married a few months ago at own will.

Sources said that a case was also under process in a local court in this regard.

According to police report, Jamil Ahmed along with his wife was returning home on a motorcycle after appearing in the court when the rivals hit their bike with car due to which they fell down.

Later, the alleged attackers Allah Nawaz and Shah Nawaz, sons of Allah Dad, and Iqbal and Arif, sons of Elahi Bakhsh, opened firing on Jamil and his wife, killing both of them on the spot.

The Saddar police registered the case on the complaint of Jamil’s father Shah Jahan in which Allah Nawaz, Shah Nawaz, Iqbal and Arif had been nominated.
