TURBAT: A soldier was martyred in a terrorist attack near Turbat on Thursday, an official statement said.

Terrorists targeted the troops near Turbat using small arms and as a result of the cowardly act Naik Aqeel Abbas embraced shahadat, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

The deceased was a resident of village Mehro Peelo in Chakwal district.

After the incident, a large-scale area sanitisation operation was launched by the FC Balochistan to hunt the terrorists.

“Such cowardly acts by inimical elements, backed by anti-state forces, cannot sabotage the hard-earned peace and prosperity in Balochistan. Security forces are determined to neutralise their nefarious designs even at the cost of blood and lives,” the ISPR said.
