Pakistan taekwondo squad reaches Beirut

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Taekwondo squad has reached Beirut to participate in the 24th Asian Taekwondo Championship.

Officials of Lebanon Taekwondo Association and the organising committee welcomed the Pakistani contingent at the airport. The national team after arrival underwent Covid-19 tests. The contingent will practise on Sunday June. Team leader Omar Saeed and Murtaza Bangash Secretary General Pakistan Asian General Council on 13 June. The team will participate in Asian Poomsae event on June 14 on Monday.

The Asian Taekwondo Championship will be held from June 16 to 18 at the Nouhad Naufal Stadium. Pakistan will also take part in the Beirut Open Championship from June 19 to 21.

Omar stated that the Pakistan players are optimistic to perform and win medals. “They are physically fit and mentally prepared to take on top-ranked athletes.”
