Soldier martyred in S. Waziristan blast

KARACHI: A soldier was martyred when an improvised explosive device exploded near a military check-post in the Kaniguram area of South Waziristan on Wednesday.

The martyred soldier was identified as Lance Naik Waqas Ahmed, 26, a resident of Karachi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, a cordon and search operation was launched to apprehend the terrorists involved in the IED blast. “Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR said.
