NORTH WAZIRISTAN: The activists of Political Alliance North Waziristan on Monday protested against the abduction of two drivers hailing from the tribal district in Shikarpur district of Sindh.

A large number of civil society activists attended the protest. Addressing the participants, Liaquat Wazir, president of the alliance, said two drivers belonging to North Waziristan’s Marsi Khel area were looted and then abducted on the main road of Shikarpur five days ago. They were shifted to an unknown place, he added.

He said the police didn’t take any action to secure their release.

Other members of political alliance demanded of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to ensure early recovery of the abducted men.

The protesters threatened that the people of the tribal district would block the Indus Highway if the abducted men were not freed within three days.
