RAWALPINDI: A new public transport route was inaugurated in Islamabad on Friday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Abdullah Mahmood, Secretary Regional Transport Authority Rashid Ali and transporters participated in the inauguration function held at its offices.

The total length of this new public route from Kahuta to Pakistan Secretariat is 52 kilometres passing through Aari Syedan, Sihala, Kak Pul, Faizabad, Zero point, Fire Brigade, Aabpara, Foreign Office and Supreme Court. Initially, 10 vehicles will ply the route and this number will be increased gradually.

Mr Mahmood expressed hope that this new route will facilitate travel needs of the people of Kahuta tehsil. He said the Punjab government is working to provide quality and comfortable travel facilities to people in public transport.
