THE Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has recently announced the result of combined competitive examinations (CCE) 2019 in which the posts of mukhtiarkars were inducted for the first time since the formulation of PMS rules in Sindh. I outline below some reservations in this regard that need to be addressed by technical experts:

If the post of mukhtiarkar is added in CCE, its seniority should be different from those already inducted in PMS. I wonder what will be the position of new PMS officers in the hierarchy who are to be inducted through upcoming commissions. Will they be placed before mukhtiarkars?

There should be separate commission for mukhtiarkars, like the engineering cadre, in which there should be subjects related to revenue in the qualifying examinations. If the post of mukhtiarkar is inducted in CCE, the pay scale should be upgraded as well.

There should be a difference between those who have passed CCE and those who have passed through a separate commission in the past.
