PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan spent the Eid with destitute children at the Zamong Kor Institute and also distributed gifts among them.

Minister for social welfare Hisham Inamullah and adviser to the chief minister on information Karan Bangash were also present, according to a statement issued here on Saturday.

Talking to mediapersons on the occasion, Mahmood Khan said children staying in the institute were not street children rather they were state children. He said the government would take utmost care of these children.

While greeting the nation on Eidul Fitr, the chief minister said it was a matter of immense pleasure for the whole nation that the Eid was celebrated the same day across the country.

He condemned the Israeli atrocities on the innocent Palestinians and said Pakistan would continue its political, moral and diplomatic support to the oppressed people for their just cause.

Mahmood Khan appealed to the citizens to celebrate Eidul Fitr in a simple manner, spend the holidays at their homes and strictly adhere to the coronavirus-related standard operating procedures to check spread of infections.

He urged the well-off people to take special care of the vulnerable and poor segments of society on the auspicious occasion.
