KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL)continued their brilliant form by outplaying Mahfooz XI 7-0 to make it to the semi-finals of Naya Nazimabad Ramadan Night Football Tournament.

SSGCL dominated the match from the beginning to the end at the lush football ground of Naya Nazimabad on Wednesday night. Ali Khan scored the first goal for SSGCL in the 16th minute to give his team lead. After that, striker Abdul Waheed completed his hat trick by scoring in the 24th, 29th and 41st minutes which almost sealed the fate of his team.

In the second half too, SSGCL continued the onslaught. Muhammad Tahir scored twice and Abdul Waheed scored another goal to make the scoreboard 7-0.

Tournament director Nasir Ismail later named Abdul Waheed as Masha United Man of the Match for his four goals. Waheed received his award from the Secretary General of Pakistan Softball Federation, Asif Azeem who said that Naya Nazimabad football tournament has become a great event where football fans from all over the city are converging to watch high class action in the matches. He added that he will make efforts to hold softball competitions at Naya Nazimabad in the future.

Meanwhile, in view of Sindh government’s ban on sports activities due to coronavirus pandemic, the administration of Naya Nazimabad has postponed the Ramadan Night Football Tournament until further orders form the provincial government.
