SIALKOT: The bridge over the seasonal nullah Nuakhat Rajbah has been left damaged for a year due to the alleged slackness of the officials of the Irrigation Department and alleged funds paucity.

A portion of the bridge near Paiyaanwali-Bambaanwala in Daska tehsil was eroded in the flash flood.

This is the only bridge that connects dozens of villages to Daska city. The local people suffer a great deal while crossing the damaged bridge.

When contacted, the officials of the Daska Irrigation Department said they had no funds for the repair of the damaged bridge.

Local people have expressed concern over the critical situation.

They demanded Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Gujranwala Division Commissioner Zulfiqar Ghuman and Sialkot Deputy Commissioner Tahir Farooq look into the matter.
