The PPP has decided to postpone its campaign rally for the NA-249 by-polls on the instructions of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, according to a statement from Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

"The PPP chairman took the decision considering the situation of the coronavirus," Shah said, adding that the Sindh government had played a leading role in curbing the spread of Covid-19 from the start.

He said that due to the "wise decisions" of the provincial government, the situation in Sindh was not as bad as in other parts of the country. "The Sindh government has set aside Rs1.5 billion for the purchase of Covid vaccine," the minister said, adding that it would procure 10 million vaccine doses in the first phase.
