ISLAMABAD: A man was murdered in G-11/4 under unexplained circumstances, police said.

The man was walking on street along with his wife where killer(s) shot him dead.

The victim was identified as Amir Shahzad, a resident of Abbotabad.

He had tied a knot with his first cousin on April 12, the police said, adding that four day after the marriage the couple moved to G-11/4 Islamabad as the bride has to appear in some exams.

On Friday night, the couple was walking in the street where some persons appeared and intercepted them, they said, adding they fired a couple of shots at Shahzad and escaped.

His wife ran towards the residence and informed the family about the incident, they said, adding that later the injured was shifted to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased sustained three bullets in his chest, the police said adding that the victim’s father a retired officer from education department Abbotabad, got information of the murder from the mother-in-law of his son and reached capital.

In response of the complaint the police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons and started investigation.

Sadar Zone Homicide Unit’s SI Asif Khan so far the reason behind the murder yet to be established, he added.
