GUJRANWALA: Commissioner Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghumman has approved 24 new development projects worth Rs 470 million in the division.

The approval of these projects was granted during the Divisional Development Committee(DCC) and Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) meetings.

During the DDC meeting, the commissioner approved 17 schemes for Narowal district under the Community Development Programme Phase 3 which would be completed at a cost of Rs 100 million.

The meeting also gave approval to four schemes for Mandi Bahauddin at a cost of Rs 50 million.

During the DDWP meeting, the commissioner approved dualisation of one km of King Morr to Sat Sira Chowk road in Mandi Bahauddin at a cost of Rs140 million. He also approved rehabilitation and repair of Harbanspur to Dhanwal Road in Narowal which would cost Rs 120 million.

The meeting also approved Rs 60 million children park project in Noshera Virkan in Gujranwala district.

SENTENCE: An additional and sessions judge awarded on Friday death sentence to an accused who killed his wife and injured mother-in-law.

Jugde Hassan Abbas Syed also imposed Rs 500,000 fine on the convict.
