VEHARI: A man killed his wife and 20-year-old daughter a land issue at Muslim Town in the Danywal police area here on Thursday.

As per details, Amin Jutt (50) wanted to sell his one acre agriculture land. His wife, Kausar Bibi (40), a public schoolteacher, was against it. On Wednesday, he sold the land and it became a bone of contention between him and Kausar.

On Thursday, the couple had a fight over the same matter and the husband attacked his wife and two daughters with a knife. As a result, Kausar and the couple’s daughter Zunera (20) died at the spot. Their other daughter Ansa (17) received critical wounds and she was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Vehari by Rescue 1122. The suspect fled after committing the crime.

Danywal police registered a case against Amin under Section 302 (murder charge) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Station House Officer Mehr Abbas said Kausar the couple’s son Zain (15) remained safe as he was not home at the time of incident. He said police registered the case on the complaint of Amir Ghani, a brother of Kausar.

Bodies of the deceased were handed over to the family after autopsy at DHQ Hospital Vehari.
