Punjab has detected 3,562 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, marking the first time the province reported more than 3,000 infections and its highest single-day rise since the start of the pandemic.
The provincial tally of cases has now reached 267,572.
Meanwhile, 97 more people died from the virus in the province, taking the total number of fatalities to 7,430.
