TAXILA: Four people were killed in separate incidents in Attock on Saturday.

In the first incident, a man shot dead his friend over some petty dispute in village Garhi Matni in the limits of Hazro Police station and managed to flee.

In the second incident, a cop was hit a speeding dumper on G.T. Road in the limits of Hassanabdal police station killing him on the spot.

Police sources said that constable Mohammad Shafique was going home after attending his duty.

Moreover, domestic issues drove a 55-year-old man to commit suicide in Kamra Police station limits.

Police said Sain Mohammad, an employee at a local defense organisation jumped into Ghazi-Brotha water channel. Later his body was flushed out from the water channel.

Police while quoting family members of the deceased said the man was mentally disturbed due to some family issues.

A motorcyclist was crushed to death by a speeding dumper on Attock-Sanjwal road in limits of Attock police station on Saturday.

Police sources said that 20-year-old Mohammad Aqeel, a resident of Fatehjang was going on his motorcycle when the dumper hit him resulting in him died on the spot. Later the body was shifted to DHQ hospital.

Respective police have registered separate cases and started further investigation. Meanwhile, Attock police have arrested 26 gamblers and a drug peddler from different areas of Attock.

Police recovered a sum of Rs 68 thousand, more than 10 mobile phones and five motorcycles besides 1.2kg hashish from their possession.
