SWAT: A man on Wednesday surrendered to the police after killing his wife and her alleged lover in Batora village here.

Saidu Sharif SHO Tariq Khan said the suspected killer came to the police station with a pistol and revealed that after finding his wife with a man in one of the rooms of his house, he shot both of them dead.

He said he had to return to his village from abroad after he came to know about his wife’s illicit affair with a man, also a resident of the Batora village. He told the police that he had married another woman.

The police officer said the accused had been arrested.

Separately, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority officials sealed a jam and beverages factory in Qambar Bypass area on Wednesday over production of substandard items.

According to a statement, a team raided the factory on a tip-off and found that jam and soft drinks were being manufactured with expired ingredients.
