KHYBER: A delegation of FBR led by its secretary Umair Saddiqui visited Torkham border here on Wednesday and met customs officials, local customs clearing agents and traders.

He was given a briefing about bilateral trade with Afghanistan and the issues being faced by local traders. He assured the traders and clearing agents that efforts would be made to remove all the hurdles in smooth clearance of trade goods alongside provision of uninterrupted internet and electricity supply at the customs offices.

COVID CASES: As many as 52 people who tested positive for coronavirus so far during the third wave have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital, Landi Kotal, health officials said.

They said that all the new patients were kept in isolation wards with strict observance of coronavirus prevention protocols.

The paramedical staff said they would ensure observance of the Covid-related SOPs and nobody would be allowed to enter the hospital premises without face mask.

Meanwhile, the tehsil municipal authorities conducted chlorine spray at Landi Kotal sub-jail, as the jail authorities imposed ban on visitors to protect the prisoners from contracting coronavirus.
