KARACHI: 1,800 teachers promoted

KARACHI, Oct 16: Above 1,800 junior and primary school teachers of the city government’s education department have been promoted as higher secondary school teacher (HST).

According to a press release issued here on Sunday, this decision was taken in a recent meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee with EDO Education Abdul Wahab Abbasi in the chair.

On the occasion, the EDO said that this was the first time that a meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee was being conducted for the promotion of junior school teachers and primary school teachers as HSTs on the basis of seniority and competence.

He further said that the committee had promoted these teachers in BPS 15 on merit basis in a transparent manner.

He said that some 1,800 teachers belonging to Karachi would be benefited from this decision. —PPI
